El Taller, Hut 38 Addison Rd Centre is a cooperative of visual artists and musicians.
El Taller was Created in 1st. of January of 1995 by Carlos Femenias and Rodney Rosas with the purpose to offer a cultural service to the Latin American and the general community.
After many weeks of hard work they virtually reconstructed the burned hut 38.
These original artists developed their works and shared with people interested their visual arts skills.
Music started with Dario Palermo's rehearsals and small encounters with his interest in tango repertoire. The Tango group Cambalache started at El Taller.
With the arrival of musician and cultural activist Justo Diaz the experiences of La Peña, Papalote and Cafe Carnivale were incorporated to El Taller, the group Tango bar also started in this space.
In the last two years El Taller was fortunate to incorporate 2 new visual artists; Abigail Lutzen and Rodney Araujo, these experienced uruguayan creators have brought new energy to the cooperative bringing new trends and artistic development.
El Taller has been supported by the Addison Rd Centre and has been contributing to the community with many social and multicultural gatherings and the Sunday Arts Markets.
